Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) Training Courses
International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Certification is one of the highest benchmarks of professional competence a practicing economic developer can attain. The premier economic develop program was instituted over 34 years ago and is growing stronger every year. CEcDs are recognized for acquiring a broad knowledge and understanding of the tools and programs of economic development that will enrich any community.
To increase the recognition value of the credential, IEDC actively markets the CEcD designation, not only to practitioners, but also to city managers and others who hire economic development professionals. It is our goal and objective to increase both awareness and value of the certification so that you will be appropriately rewarded for your knowledge, skill, ability and devotion to your profession.
Certification is an asset for you and your community and the value of the CEcD credential is like no other.

About the Exam
The exam has been scheduled for December 11th and 12th, 2010 and will be held at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Lansing. Registration requires that application and payment be received by MEDA and you may begin submitting them now. MEDA must submit the applications to the IEDC at least 60 day prior to the exam, so plan accordingly. You will receive a notice from the IEDC 30 days before the exam letting you know if you are approved. Email cjorae@medaweb.org with questions or call the MEDA office at 517-241-0011.
