Fenton Economic Development -- Fenton, Michigan, is the focal point and a destination for many from surrounding communities. Residents and visitors alike appreciate The City of Fenton’s historic, small-town feel along with the variety of shops, restaurants and professional services. Located near US-23 and within a 60 mile radius of Ann Arbor, Detroit, Flint, Lansing, Northern Oakland County and Saginaw, Fenton has many unique features that will help your business thrive. Currently the City is proud of their new marketing campaign asking us to Be Closer. The City is also excited about the Downtown Renovation that is underway with the Michigan Brewing Company restoring the Old Fire Hall in Downtown. We are also excited about many other projects that are planned to occur in the next few years. The City is focusing on making our Downtown the most vibrant in Genesee County. The Department of Economic Development provides services to stimulate economic development and assist the development process. Fenton Community -- The City of Fenton is conveniently located in lower mid-Michigan with access to the U.S. 23 expressway from three locations in the city at Owen, Silver Lake and North roads. The population of the City of Fenton, according to updated 2010 U.S. Census Bureau figures, is 11,786. The City of Fenton’s downtown area retains much of its historical look while at the same time is undergoing major re-investment and revitalization. The Shiawassee River also flows over a dam through the park in the center of town. The park is overlooked by city hall and includes an old-fashioned gazebo and walkway by the river. Fenton offers a wide variety of shopping, at the Silver Lake shopping district. There are also several different places to dine, ranging from regional food chains to fine dining restaurants. The city is in the heart of a beautiful recreation area. There are 58 lakes within a 10-mile radius of the city, which are used for fishing, boating, swimming and other water sports. The Silver Lake Park features a municipal beach and picnic areas. Lake Fenton, with more than 11 miles of shoreline, is the largest lake in the area. The area around the city provides facilities for downhill and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing and ice boating in the winter. Other things to do include bowling, golfing, canoeing, and much more.
