Michigan Economic Developers Association exists to advance economic development in Michigan by providing a range of services and programs to enhance economic development skills. By offering programs, education classes, public relations, and networking opportunities, MEDA makes it possible for economic development professionals statewide to be up to date/educated on the most successful economic development practices.

MEDA Membership Service of the Month
May 2012 -- MEDA provides conferences and training courses throughout the year for its members and to anyone with interest in economic development. Topics vary depending on the current needs of the economic development community. Sessions also include updates on popular economic development programs that have been proven to generate business growth and much more. MEDA Members have access to this training at a reduced rate.

This yearly event looks at key economic development tools comprehensively from both an informational and implementation aspect. Several breakout sessions are held throughout the program so that attendees can choose the programs that are the most important to their area of responsibility. Both state and local professionals join together to take a fresh look at both current and new programs used by economic and community development professionals. Register Now for the 2012 Economic Development Basic Course: September 10th - 13th
MEDA has partnered with the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and Western Michigan University to offer the Economic Development Basic Course. This week long course is a comprehensive educational opportunity with focus on the critical areas of economic development. For those seeking national certification, the Economic Development Basic Course is the first requirement in the process towards receiving your Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) certification. This course is also excellent for those with under five years of experience in economic development or for those just looking to tie up loose ends to their economic development knowledge.
