MEDA Membership Service of the Month
May 2013
-- Advocacy on economic development is a part of MEDA’s Mission and Vision, and that point was made very clear when the temporary Taskforce was changed to the permanent Advocacy Committee. If legislation is proposed or enacted that hampers MEDA member’s ability to attract businesses to the state, MEDA informs its members and lets them know of committee hearings and encourages them to contact their legislators. Members are also notified of legislation effecting economic development on a weekly basis and a yearly Capitol Day conference is a platform for legislative knowledge growth.
Be a part of MEDA as our advocacy strategy grows so that we can continue to be your “leading voice for economic developers in Michigan.” Currently the Committee discussing a survey and focus groups that address the way economic development incentives are structured.
