About the Exchange

MEDA's Regional Networking and Knowledge Exchanges started when MEDA's Membership Committee made it a goal to increase engagement for the Association after members sought more time for networking at events.

Economic developers and their partners in community development, talent development, environmental, housing, etc., are invited to this casual afternoon of meeting and mingling. To add to the value, you will go home with information that will help you do your job more efficiently and effectively, which is MEDA's Mission and Vision for you.

MEDC Talks 2019
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) has worked consistently year after year to provide programs and services for businesses and communities in the state - or those that want to locate here - that meet their needs for growth. 2019 is no different.

*Each MEDC MVP below will give you a quick update on something to help you with your economic development strategy, and then you will be able to visit with them to ask questions.

The latest from the MEDC's Community Development Program in their mission to support the growth of vibrant, diverse, and resilient communities across Michigan.
Katharine Czarnecki, Senior Vice President, Community Development

Learn about the NEW! Michigan Site Readiness Program, which is designed to provide industrial sites that are “shovel ready” for business attraction and business growth projects.
Valerie Hoag, Senior Advisor, Business Development

Redevelopment Ready Communities (RRC) will benefit from the expertise of the Redevelopment Services Team (RSTeam) on proactive site redevelopment for their priority sites. The RSTeam will engage RRC's with high-quality and in-depth technical assistance, RRSites marketing and promotion, and developer relationship building and matchmaking. Learn specific examples of how this focus has already lead to increased traction on priority sites.
Nate Scramlin, Manager, Redevelopment Services

If you're not sure yet whether you should engage the site consultants through MEDC's programs, you will be after you hear stats supporting the success! Two major components - Market Blitzes and familiarization (fam) tours - are crafted to build relationships with site consultants and "fam" them with your area. Grow your partnership with the MEDC to promote your area to site consultants.
