The Michigan Economic Developers Association is a growing state-wide organization dedicated to helping communities grow. We are looking for a dynamic individual who desires to make an impact on the quality of life in Michigan both locally and statewide.
Job Description: Manage and coordinate up to 14 events each year (10 - 200 attendees). Work with volunteer committees to develop event content and manage all event logistics, including: contract negotiation, speaker/trainer contact, seating arrangements, food and beverage, audio visual, onsite management, pre-event communication with attendees, and the preparation of materials.
Along with the Executive Director, identify and implement a new webinar program and look for other opportunities to educate/train individuals interested in growing Michigan’s communities.
Also required will be minimal office duties and other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate: Organized and detail-oriented with experience in event planning, budgeting, working with volunteers, and is skilled in professional communication. Understanding of Microsoft Office, including experience with Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is helpful.
This is a full-time position but will consider part-time moving to full time May of 2020.
